Sunil K. Sharma is a musician and composer living in Santa Rosa, CA. He performs frequently throughout the Northern CA Bay Area and beyond. His primary instrument is the guitar, both electric and acoustic, and he has recently taken up the drums.
Sunil received his Bachelor's Degree in Music with departmental honors at Sonoma State University in Northern California. He has studied with world class musicians like Grammy Award-nominated guitarist Andre Bush, international recording artist Peppino D'Agostino, former Poncho Sanchez Band pianist and director Charles Otwell, and bassist and composer Mel Graves.
Sunil's music encompasses the worlds of jazz, rock, funk, blues, fusion, modern classical, folk, and Americana. He is a core member and writer for the jazz-rock quintet Reality Check, and performs regularly with Sonoma County-based singer/songwriter Alison Harris.
Sunil is also a political activist, writer, and former editor and publisher of the popular news/commentary website Dissident Voice.
Sunil was born on March 25, 1970 in Glendale, CA and grew up in Los Angeles and Orange County. He moved to the Northern California Bay Area in 1991.
